Our History

The foundations for what is now Flexi Care Inc. started in 1992 as Mount Gravatt Community Options. A full-time coordinator was appointed and located in a small office on Ipswich Road, Annerley. Services started in March 1993 when approval was given to work with 40 clients and care providers.

Clientele continued to increase over the next two years, then in 1996, with funding was approved for two new services: 200 in the Auspice South-East Podiatry Project and ten Community Aged Care Packages for more complex client needs.  This saw numbers increase from 60 clients to 270. A name change followed in 1998 to Flexi Care Inc. and the addition of more care packages saw client numbers increase to 767. In 2001 this increased further with the addition of the Veteran’s Home Care Program.

The continued growth in service demands resulted in the organisation moving premises several times to meet the growing demands for space to house increased staffing and later, volunteers.

Today, Flexi Care Inc. is situated in its own premises in Dividend Street, Mansfield, Brisbane. Over 80 staff and a team of volunteers assist more than 2,600 clients.

Flexi Care Inc. is a well respected service in the Brisbane South community.  It continues to grow in response to emerging trends and increasing demands in the delivery of support for older people and people with a disability enabling their clients to maintain independence and to continue to live in their own homes. Flexi Care Inc. provides services by assisting and encouraging our clients to set achievable goals with a wellness and reablement approach.
